Job Summary

J C FORD COMPANY is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineering Specialist to join our team. This role requires a highly motivated individual with excellent technical skills and strong problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Design, validate, commission, and troubleshoot electrical and control systems for automated food processing lines and equipment.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate closely with the Engineering and Operations staff to ensure project goals are met.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare requirements documents, verification and validation plans, and written procedures.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks through risk assessments and countermeasures.
  • Sales Support: Translate sales requirements into product specifications in accordance with company product development process.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail orientation, and analytical/problem-solving skills required.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in product development in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skills: Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, methodologies, and processes; expertise in electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical; knowledge and application of Ladder logic programming; effective use of engineering processes such as ECR/ECN.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Heavy capital equipment in the food industry; preparation of P&ID diagrams; communication systems, data logging, and analysis.

Physical Requirements

The majority of the job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions, but the job will also require visiting the production floor or customer job sites. Estimated salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year based on location and experience.
