The Logistics Customer Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless transition of products from suppliers to customers. This position involves monitoring inventory levels, processing orders, maintaining product quality, preparing invoices, tracking pricing and fees, supplying relevant departments with necessary information, and addressing issues related to damaged or defective products.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in customer service is highly desirable.
  • Experience in supply chain or logistics is essential.
  • Experience with international shipping is preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong active listening, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Customer-focused with the capability to resolve issues effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with SAGE100 and WebEDI.
  • Knowledgeable in supply chain processes, international shipping, and customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess inventory and forecast needs to generate purchase orders as required.
  • Monitor all containers with items ordered for various clients through multiple carrier platforms.
  • Regularly update shipping logs with vessel details, including estimated arrival times.
  • Provide necessary documentation to carriers for scheduling deliveries as containers approach arrival.
  • Distribute receiving documents to various departments and external partners.
  • Prepare pick-sheets for the warehouse to facilitate shipping.
  • Issue sales orders to the shipping department for invoicing once orders are dispatched.
  • Send delivery orders to shipping lines when containers are onboard.
  • Create sales orders based on purchase orders received from aftermarket clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
