About the Role

Capitol Broadcasting Company is seeking an experienced IT professional to assist with the design, implementation, and management of the cybersecurity components of our company.

This position requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices, as well as the ability to work closely with various teams to ensure security is integrated in all aspects of service operations.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate strategically and hands-on equally.
  • Recommend, develop, and maintain security architecture designs and controls for internal tools, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain IT security roadmaps, guidelines, frameworks, and policies in alignment with regulations and best practices.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and influence key stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest security trends.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on security issues and their impact on technologies.
  • Adapt quickly to change and respond to ambiguous situations.
  • Conduct security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend controls to counter to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
  • Experience in performing Proof-of-Concepts, Cost-Benefit, and/or Proof-of-Value to support solution purchase decisions.
  • Partner with network, hosting, and service desk teams to purposefully design security into all designs, projects, and processes.
  • Implement and oversee security monitoring tools and processes to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the security posture.
  • Position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call scheduled rotation.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills (e.g., Speaking, listening, writing)
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational operations and goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in a relevant field or two-year degree and relevant cybersecurity certifications.
  • 4+ years' experience in cybersecurity engineering, identity and access management, and other related security fields.
  • Experience securing Microsoft solutions, servers, PCs. Patch testing & deploy.
  • Excellent understanding of network architectures, operating systems, email, certificates, cloud computing, and security technologies.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining two or more of the following technologies:
  • EDR/XDR/MDR
  • SSO & MFA
  • Ransomware defense & remediation
  • IAM/PAM in Active Directory
  • DLP & Document Retention
  • Control Frameworks (e.g., CIS, NIST)
  • Occasional travel to other CBC sites as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CISSP, GCIH, GSEC, CRISC, or other similar level certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and orchestration (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Python, PowerShell, Power Automate.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS.
