Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian delivers high-quality patient-centered care, utilizing proficient clinical nutrition skills and knowledge. This role involves planning and delivering nutritional care for patients throughout the life cycle, in accordance with physician diagnoses, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based literature.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patients' nutritional care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide safe, therapeutic, evidence-based care for designated patient coverage, adhering to Clinical Nutrition and Vidant Health policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Optimal Care Path work groups and problem resolution activities to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collect, analyze, and utilize data to monitor the quality and appropriateness of patient care, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with on-the-job training of new dietitians, dietetic interns, and students, ensuring an understanding of department policies and procedures.
  • Model Service Excellence behaviors, demonstrating workplace courtesy and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition or a related field.
  • Successful completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) approved dietetic internship or equivalent AND practicum experience.
  • Zero years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
  • RDN, LDN, or successful completion of RDN exam and obtain NC License within 3 months of hire.
