Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Steward Medical Group - North. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient information, verify electronic health records, and take vital signs to prepare for office appointments.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques and maintain supplies for procedures in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform injections as certified and permissible by law, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Clean exam/procedure rooms and maintain equipment between patients and at the end of the day, documenting accordingly.
  • Execute paperwork for each patient, including documenting EMRs, filing, and follow-up phone calls.
  • Interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress, utilizing bilingual communication skills when necessary.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Successful completion of a degree or certificate program in Medical Assisting is required. Relevant professional experience is preferred.
  • National certification from AAMA, NMAA, or equivalent is a plus and earns a higher rate than non-certified MA's.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting linens, supplies, and patients while utilizing proper body mechanics.
