Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Line Installation Specialist to join our team at Pike Electric, LLC.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining electrical overhead distribution systems, working at heights and in various weather conditions. This is a semi-skilled position that requires strong technical knowledge and physical stamina.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain electrical overhead distribution systems, including strings, poles, anchors, transformers, and other equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair primary and secondary systems, replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
  • Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work on energized and de-energized overhead systems.
  • Perform rigorous physical labor, including climbing structures and working in confined spaces.
  • Check voltage on transformers and tie in primary conductors.
  • Phase out lines using phasing sticks and obtain one shots on reclosers.
  • Conduct pre-job briefings and safely perform reconductoring jobs.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent field experience in electrical line installation and maintenance.
  • The ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • A Commercial Driver's License permit within 60 days of employment (CDL preferred).
  • Able to travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods in various locations.
  • Able to lift over 50 lbs and properly inspect rubber goods and PPE.
Physical Demands:

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee is also frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.

Work Environment:

The work environment can be loud, with extreme conditions encountered at construction job sites. This position involves working outside in various weather conditions.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
