Job Title: Education Assistant - Juneau Community Charter School

About the Role:
This part-time position is available at the Juneau Community Charter School, working 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students and providing instructional assistance in assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work primarily with students who are not in special education, presenting material and activities to improve skills in reading, writing, math, computers, and vocational education.
* Record grades and other measures of students' progress and behavior.

Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent required;
* Some prior experience working with school-age children preferred;
* Must have either an AA degree, 48 semester hours, or be willing to take and pass the Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Exam;
* Ability to maintain confidentiality, provide instructional assistance, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, operate a personal computer, and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents.

Benefits:
* Starting salary: $21.69 per hour;

* Represented by the Juneau Education Support Staff (JESS) bargaining agreement.
