Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Education Assistant to provide academic support to students in a school setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with school-age children and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Presents material and activities to improve skills in assigned areas, including reading, writing, math, computers, and vocational education.
  • Works individually or in small groups, recording grades and measures of progress and behavior.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • Some prior experience working with school-age children preferred.
  • CPR, first aid, and district-approved behavioral management techniques may be required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of files and record-keeping.
  • Personal computers and related software.
  • School-age children's behavior.
Benefits

This is a part-time 9-month position with a 20-hour workweek. The salary is $21.69 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PERS, and paid time off. The position is represented by the Juneau Education Support Staff bargaining agreement.
