AdvisaCare is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator to join our team at our home health agency. As an Insurance Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patient benefit information, initial authorization, and patient liability are obtained prior to clinical staff starting care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and verify patient benefit information, initial authorization, and patient liability prior to clinical staff starting care.
- Schedule clinical staff and track orders and other pertinent documentation from physicians, providers, and referral sources.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) platforms, such as WellSky/Kinnser Agency Manager, to manage patient information and coordinate care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of one year of experience in insurance verification, insurance authorization, or medical billing.
- Knowledge of Medicare and insurance websites, such as CareCentrix, Availity, and Priority.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
