Your Opportunity
Stantec is a global leader in infrastructure, environmental, and social development services, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals and communities worldwide. We are looking to expand our team of interdisciplinary Facility Condition Assessors to support a comprehensive Facility Condition Assessment program across various installations. Candidates should possess knowledge and experience in mechanical systems, electrical systems, building envelopes (including roofing), as well as structural and interior components.

The team will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of facilities and systems at various installations on a full-time basis.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a detailed inventory of client facilities, accurately classifying building components in accordance with industry standards.
  • Evaluate the condition of client facilities, utilizing professional expertise to assess compliance with specifications and building codes.
  • Experience with facility condition assessment software is preferred. Familiarity with web-based Sustainment Management System (SMS) software is advantageous; however, training will be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Utilize technology, including tablets with integrated cameras, to document equipment and systems during assessments, providing thorough justifications for condition evaluations.
  • Work under supervision, adhering to established protocols and best practices.
  • Demonstrate the physical capability to inspect extensive facilities, including mechanical and electrical systems, with the expectation of walking significant distances daily.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong technical writing skills are essential.
  • Good mathematical skills are required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently is necessary.
  • Compliance with drug screening protocols is mandatory.
Education and Experience
  • Relevant experience or formal education in building and mechanical systems is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience is preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Certification as a master mechanic/technician is advantageous.
  • ICC certification and ASHRAE Level I and II energy auditor credentials are preferred.
