The Event Coordinator is tasked with overseeing and managing assigned group business after it has been secured by the sales and catering department, ensuring successful execution of events or functions while maintaining profitable operations and high-quality service standards.

This role involves marketing initiatives to promote business, maintaining revenue, and achieving budgeted productivity while consistently upholding quality.

The Event Coordinator also serves as a liaison between clients and operational departments to guarantee successful meetings and foster repeat business.

Responsibilities:
Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all issues or matters requiring attention.
Prepare and submit necessary reports promptly.
Follow up on all turnovers within 24 hours via phone and within 2 days with written correspondence.
Understand meeting room setups and capabilities.
Know sleeping room configurations and types.
Respond to requests from Meeting Planners without delay.

Possess comprehensive knowledge of all operational departments within the hotel, including guest services, reservations, housekeeping, audio-visual, switchboard, accounting, restaurants, bars, and engineering.

Engage with external planners and vendors for event arrangements.
Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for clients.
Create, review, and update rooming lists and VIP lists.
Manage existing accounts and follow up with clients to secure future business.
Collaborate with other F&B managers and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.
Manage the function book and adjust space to maximize potential revenue.
Meet or exceed established goals.
Be visible on the floor and assist staff as needed during events.
Participate in and/or conduct departmental and hotel training (One-to-One Training, etc.)
Plan and execute holiday and special events in collaboration with the Director of Catering.
Utilize feedback from Meeting Planner evaluations to enhance service and quality.
Participate in the required M.O.D. program as scheduled.
At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel setting.
Must be proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department regulations, and liquor laws is essential.
Experience with Marriott Consolidated Inventory System "CI" is a plus.
