Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Cloud Foundational Services team at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

The Cloud Networks team is focused on accelerating cloud adoption through the development of cloud native networking solutions. We are looking for a talented engineer who can identify opportunities to develop and improve solutions, partner with stakeholders, partners, and customers to drive implementation and adoption, and lead the development of cloud networking offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
  • Contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Lead the development of cloud networking offerings, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and reliable
  • Collaborate with other cloud platform engineering teams to enable the delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable applications on the cloud
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and bring in recommendations for adoption and implementation of new tools/technologies
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience, with demonstrated coaching and mentoring abilities
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced skills in Bash, GIT, Python, and intermediate experience with Go, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Public Clouds such as AWS, Azure, and Google
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods and all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Practical cloud native experience and certifications in target areas such as AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes are desirable
