Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Lead Software Engineer to join our Consumer & Community Banking division at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop creative software solutions, leveraging your expertise in Java development to build innovative applications.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Requirements
  • Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Experience with Java development, including creating medium/large sized Java web applications from start to finish.
  • Experience in implementing Micro services using Spring Boot and Event Driven architecture.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Practical public or private cloud experience.
  • Experience with high volume, mission critical applications.
