Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our talented team at JPMorganChase. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development with expertise in Go, Python, or Java.

This role involves working with public cloud technologies, including Terraform Infrastructure as Code and AWS. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable cloud native software solutions, mentoring junior engineers, and executing creative software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable cloud native software solutions using modern technology stacks.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance and support through code reviews and educational workshops.
  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with customers and partner teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Requirements
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) including Golang, Python, Java, and Typescript.
  • Proficiency in test automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience working in an agile environment employing software delivery practices such as CI & CD and Scrum.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software design principles and patterns as well as experience implementing solutions using various software architectures.
  • Poses excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills and experience leading software development projects.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining reactive/event-driven architectures.
  • Experience in building and maintaining cloud native software solutions including advanced knowledge of managing Infrastructure as Code.
