Role Summary:
We are in search of a meticulous and organized Medical Billing Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This role is essential for preparing and submitting insurance claims with precision, ensuring all submissions are complete and accurate, and addressing any issues that may arise during the billing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and submit insurance claims electronically or via paper, emphasizing accuracy and thoroughness.
- Guarantee that all claims are processed without errors and follow up on any inconsistencies.
- Manage clearinghouse rejections by updating incorrect patient details and resubmitting claims as necessary.
- Engage with insurance providers to resolve issues and gather required information for claim approvals.
- Conduct regular audits of paper claims to identify and rectify any errors.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in medical billing, ideally within the physical rehabilitation or therapy industry.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers' Compensation insurance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experienced with medical billing software (Raintree preferred).
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication abilities and capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.
