Job Summary

FUJIFILM Electronic Materials, U.S.A., Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Application Engineer to join our team in Mesa, AZ. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for developing and improving CMP processes for new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, support, and improve CMP processes for new and existing products.
  • Act as a CMP process expert in supporting R&D chemists.
  • Investigate chemistry and abrasive interactions with different dielectric and metal films.
  • Fine-tune chemistry to get desired defects and metrology performance for CMP.
  • Support product life cycle, including product characterization and functional testing.
  • Interface with internal and external technical teams.
  • Run product demonstrations for customers in FFEM's applications lab.
  • Provide on-site customer support, both domestic and international.
  • Design, analyze, and summarize data using statistical software.
  • Collaborate with technical staff on process/formulation needs with respect to CMP chemistries.
  • Apply fundamental chemistry knowledge.
  • Participate in new product development and commercialization.
  • Ability to work extensively in lab environment and direct technicians to support project needs in an efficient manner.
  • Must be able to communicate and work well with other professionals in a team environment.
  • Job requires standing and working in the lab for a substantial part of every day.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Material Science with a minimum 6 years of industry experience or a Master's Degree and 3 years plus industry experience or Ph.D. with 0-2 years of industry experience.
  • Semiconductor industry experience, preferably CMP.
  • Demonstrates analytical ability, chemistry, colloids, and interface science required.
  • Understanding of abrasive technology, corrosion protection, and electrochemistry.
  • Highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented individual with a passion for problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication, data collection, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in office software such as MS Excel, Word, PPT, and Outlook required. DoE, JMP, data analyses, and technical reporting required, experiment modeling desired.
  • Project management experience preferred. Ability to multi-task.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time, including international travel.
  • Ability to support customers in various regions of the globe.
