Adjunct Instructor for College Writing 1 Courses

The Art and Humanities division at Newman University invites applicants for an adjunct instructor position for College Writing 1 courses.

The instructor will teach courses in-person on campus, Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday mornings.

These are temporary positions and do not include benefits.

Teach undergraduate courses as assigned in keeping with departmental, university and accreditation standards, policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Meet with Lead Instructor of assigned course a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the course to review syllabus, course materials, etc.
  • Inform students of their progress by promptly returning assignments, quizzes, and examinations.
  • Master's degree in English; Commitment to teaching academic writing skills to student writers.
