Job Title: Part Time Instructor Criminal Justice

Central Oregon Community College (COCC) is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Criminal Justice courses in a classroom, remote, or online delivery mode. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice or a related field, and experience in the field through law enforcement, corrections, or probation and parole.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction in Criminal Justice courses, including Introduction to Criminal Justice, The Judicial Process, and Law Enforcement.
  • Direct student discussion, select learning experiences, and evaluate student performance in the classroom.
  • Cooperate with the Business Department to revise and standardize curricula for these classes.
  • Attend regular trainings as scheduled by the department or College.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Experience in the field through law enforcement, corrections, or probation and parole.
  • Ability to operate or oversee the operation of computers, video chat technology, and familiarity with the learning management system (LMS) used at COCC.
  • Ability to orally communicate effectively with others, using the English language, with or without the use of an interpreter.
  • Ability to work with other faculty and COCC staff at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College teaching experience.
