Insurance Verification Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Insurance Verification Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice by verifying patient insurance coverage and managing patient benefit information.

Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits to ensure procedures are covered by their respective plans.
  • Accurately enter patient data into our electronic medical records system.
  • Update patient benefit information within the practice's EMR system.
  • Re-verify active patients' coverage as needed.
  • Conduct thorough research to obtain accurate insurance details for patients.
  • Adhere to established documentation protocols and maintain meticulous records.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience in insurance verification within a healthcare setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, including effective communication (both written and verbal) and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing multiple software systems for data input and retrieval.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply ophthalmology and retina terminology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a retina medical practice is highly desirable.
