Insurance Verification SpecialistWe are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Insurance Verification Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice by verifying patient insurance coverage and managing patient benefit information.
Responsibilities:- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits to ensure procedures are covered by their respective plans.
- Accurately enter patient data into our electronic medical records system.
- Update patient benefit information within the practice's EMR system.
- Re-verify active patients' coverage as needed.
- Conduct thorough research to obtain accurate insurance details for patients.
- Adhere to established documentation protocols and maintain meticulous records.
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience in insurance verification within a healthcare setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, including effective communication (both written and verbal) and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in utilizing multiple software systems for data input and retrieval.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply ophthalmology and retina terminology.
- Previous experience working in a retina medical practice is highly desirable.
