Responsibilities:
The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) is seeking a qualified scientist to join our Ion Cyclotron Resonance (ICR) Program as research faculty. The successful candidate will support external ICR users, attract new users, and develop high-impact applications of ICR mass spectrometry. The candidate will collaborate with NHMFL staff, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows, publish manuscripts, and prepare applications for external grant support. In addition, the successful applicant will work with ICR Program permanent staff to implement and promote improvements to our FAIR data practices, ensure that they remain state-of-the-art, and work with NHMFL staff to implement FAIR data practices throughout NHMFL.
Qualifications:
Academic doctorate or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
Other Information:
The NHMFL houses the world's premier ICR laboratory, with state-of-the-art FT-ICR mass spectrometers that operate at 21 T, 14.5 T, 9.4 T, and 9.4 T, for research in chemistry, materials science, engineering, geochemistry, biochemistry, and biology. Current areas include natural organic matter, emerging environmental contaminants, biofuels, top-down proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, and mass spectrometry imaging.
