We are currently on the lookout for motivated individuals to take on the role of Procurement Assistants within our Merchandising Department.
Position SummaryAs a Procurement Assistant, you will operate under the guidance of the Divisional Merchandise Manager and our Merchandising Managers. This dual-role position involves not only sourcing products but also promoting them both internally and externally. You will collaborate with our sales and marketing teams to implement various advertising strategies, sales initiatives, events, dealer communications, and product training sessions. Additionally, you will act as a liaison between Davidson's and its suppliers, fostering relationships while negotiating favorable payment, pricing, and delivery terms.
Key Responsibilities- Product Sourcing: Assist the Merchandising team in selecting and acquiring products as directed by the Divisional Merchandise Manager and Merchandising Managers.
- Supplier Engagement: Communicate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines. Address any issues related to orders or deliveries and assist in organizing the Merchandising Department's involvement in trade shows and events.
- Market Research: Conduct research to provide regular updates on emerging trends, assess supplier performance, and stay informed about market dynamics.
- Inventory Oversight: Monitor stock levels and work with the team to ensure timely reordering and replenishment.
- Data Management: Maintain and analyze purchasing data to support informed buying decisions and strategies.
- Administrative Duties: Prepare purchase orders, process invoices, and keep accurate transaction records.

- Education: An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience in a buying or procurement role within the outdoor or sporting goods sectors is advantageous but not essential.
- Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with inventory management software is beneficial.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
