The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all activities within the Quality Assurance department during the assigned shift, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Train and supervise Quality Assurance technicians, ensuring effective scheduling and monitoring of their progress.
- Assist with line setups to ensure optimal production starts.
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment according to established schedules, and conduct pre-operational sanitation inspections.
- Troubleshoot issues, monitor compliance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and USDA regulations.
- Collaborate with various departments to meet quality standards, identify areas for food safety improvements, and communicate recommendations.
- Investigate customer complaints and conduct audits as necessary.
- Monitor raw material rotation and report any deviations, recommending corrective actions when needed.
- Generate daily activity reports and conduct inventories of chemicals and supplies.
- Identify safety hazards within the QA work areas and report them promptly.
- Perform basic microbiological tests and manage sampling schedules.
- Maintain knowledge of QA standard operating procedures and food safety programs.
- Act as a backup to the QA Manager as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience required; a degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and memos, as well as to write clear communications.
- Proficient in basic math skills and able to interpret graphs and charts.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in standardized situations.
- Must be HACCP trained and certified in SQF and CPR.
- Computer literacy is essential, including proficiency in generating reports and graphs using software tools.

Work Environment:
