Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

The Neonatal Care Specialist will assist, monitor, and manage the day-to-day needs of patients in the NICU under the supervision of a physician. This role requires proficiency in newborn resuscitation, intubation, and stabilization, as well as other medical procedures.
Responsibilities- Obtain accurate patient histories and identify problems to present to the supervising physician.
- Chart patient information through written, dictation, or electronic means, including admission notes, history and physical examinations, and daily patient encounter notes.
- Prescribe medications under the supervision of a licensed physician, adhering to federal and state laws and regulations.
- Assist supervising surgeons in the operating room and assist supervising physicians in procedure rooms.
- Manage post-procedure patient care, including starting IVs, inserting foley catheters, and ordering transfusions.
- Exhibit organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as initiative, accountability, and responsibility.
- Participate in research trials, collect and enter data, and identify patient needs to modify and deliver care accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and healthcare personnel, and adhere to hospital infection control and safety policies.
- Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing or a physician assistant program.
- Master's degree required, with a valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License or Physician Assistant License.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Certification or Physician Assistant Certification required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
