We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse to join our team in the General Neurology/Stroke department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neurology and stroke care, with excellent clinical skills and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist and monitor patients under the supervision of a physician, performing duties and responsibilities according to customary and generally accepted medical standards.
- Obtain accurate patient histories, identify problems, and present information to the supervising physician.
- Chart patient information, including admission notes, history and physical examinations, consultations, and daily patient encounter notes.
- Prescribe medications under the supervision of a licensed physician, adhering to federal and state laws and regulations.
- Assist in the operating room and procedure room as needed, and write post-operative/post-procedure notes and orders for the supervising physician.
- Manage patient care, including starting IVs, inserting foley catheters, and ordering transfusions of blood and products.
- Exhibit strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.
- Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program or graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing.
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse in the state of New Jersey.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant patient care setting.
- Masters Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and effective interpersonal skills.
