The salary range is approximately $85,000 - $100,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Position Overview:

The Heat Treat Engineer will provide essential engineering support to manufacturing operations, focusing on heat treatment processes and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop heat treatment manufacturing processes, including equipment and process flow.
  • Offer engineering insights and technical support for process enhancements.
  • Lead root cause analysis for technical challenges.
  • Conduct process evaluations aimed at improving quality, reducing costs, and minimizing cycle times.
  • Deliver technical assistance to the manufacturing team for daily operations and long-term projects.
  • Update engineering documentation to reflect process changes.
  • Evaluate spare part issues and implement approved modifications.
  • Prepare new equipment to align with production and quality standards.
  • Execute equipment capability studies and fulfill APQP and PFMEA requirements.
  • Design new equipment layouts for management approval.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for equipment as necessary.
  • Develop and test tooling, fixtures, and gauges for manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee new capital equipment purchases and installations.
  • Create engineering reports for process development and troubleshooting.
  • Manage projects related to process changes for new products.
  • Travel occasionally as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Heat Treat Engineering within the manufacturing sector, particularly with EMAG or induction heating processes.
  • Experience in the automotive supply industry is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with close tolerance measurements and strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, equipment layouts, and part drawings.
  • Experience in designing or modifying fixtures for high-volume production is preferred.
  • Capital procurement or plant startup experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Excel and Word; familiarity with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD LT is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, ergonomics, and IATF standards.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed during shutdowns or projects.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship is required.
