Job Opportunity

CACS Head Start is seeking a dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in planning and implementing individualized education plans and activities. Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and nurturing environment that fosters the social, emotional, intellectual, language, and physical development of our children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children
  • Support the classroom teacher in planning and implementing educational activities
  • Communicate regularly with the supervisor and Family Advocate
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to achieve educational goals
  • Assist with parent and family events, training, and engagement efforts

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with child development coursework
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) certification required within two years of employment
  • Minimum one year of experience in a childcare setting
