Key Responsibilities
The Senior System Administrator will be tasked with:

  • Supporting the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT infrastructures.
  • Delivering Tier 1 (Help Desk) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Overseeing daily configuration and operational activities of IT systems.
  • Assisting users in accessing and utilizing IT resources effectively.
  • Providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for escalated issues.
  • Ensuring smooth operation and monitoring of client/server/storage/network devices, including mobile technology.
  • Facilitating communication of status updates to management and internal stakeholders.
  • Optimizing system performance and resource allocation, including capacity analysis and planning.
  • Offering in-depth troubleshooting expertise for IT systems.
  • Delivering detailed feedback and analysis for escalated support tickets.
  • Managing dispatch systems and hardware issues while remaining engaged in the resolution process.
  • Configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems, including installation and enhancement for improved reliability and performance.
  • Contributing to the design of systems and mission architecture along with associated hardware.
  • Understanding system administration interdependencies within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Analyzing and resolving intricate issues related to server hardware, applications, and software integration.

Qualifications
A current Top-Secret/SCI with FS polygraph security clearance is mandatory. Candidates cannot be sponsored for a government security clearance under this role.

Fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Administrator in similar programs and contracts is required. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution is also required. Alternatively, five (5) years of additional System Administrator experience may substitute for a degree.

Essential Technical Skills
Proficiency in the following areas is required:

  • Security + certification.
  • Experience with Linux Command Line Interface (CLI).
  • Script development using Bash/Python.
  • System Administration experience in installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS software in Linux and Windows environments.
  • General knowledge of HPC technology including compute, network, memory, and storage components.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and automation tools like Ansible and SaltStack.
  • Understanding of various network communications, including IP and InfiniBand.
  • Experience in configuring and managing diverse storage components.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and customer service skills, including issue resolution and report generation.
  • Knowledge of corporate security compliance policies and procedures.
  • Experience maintaining security posture for a System Security Plan (SSP), including managing IAVAs and POAMs.
  • Familiarity with corporate SSP accreditation processes.

Preferred Technical Skills
Experience in the following areas is desired:

  • Centrify.
  • Atlassian Suite tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Sanitization of hardware, firmware, and software in compliance with USG policies.
