Correctional Services Manager

The Texas Juvenile Justice Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Juvenile Correctional Officer to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a juvenile residential facility, facilitating youth rehabilitation, and providing direct care to juveniles.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of a juvenile residential facility, ensuring a safe and secure environment for youth and staff.
- Facilitate youth rehabilitation, supervision, and coaching to promote personal development and adherence to individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct care to juveniles, including supervision, guidance, and support to help them achieve their goals.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and coaching to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care to youth.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and effective approach to youth rehabilitation.
- Develop and implement programs and activities to promote youth engagement, education, and personal growth.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of programs and services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports, as required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or rehabilitation/treatment services role, preferably in a correctional or residential setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or coursework preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with youth, staff, and stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including standing, walking, and lifting.
The Senior Juvenile Correctional Officer will work in a residential facility, with regular exposure to youth and staff. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
