Ryder System is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections and repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Component Inspections and Repairs: Inspect and repair or replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform maintenance tasks on facility equipment, such as generators, HVAC systems, and lighting.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus one year or more of combination of classroom training or work experience of mechanical repairs on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.
- Skills and Abilities: Effective interpersonal communication skills, ability to work independently, and knowledge of computers (intermediate level).
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred, and state license as required.
This is a safety-sensitive position, and the selected candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazardous conditions.
