Job Summary

The Ready-Mix Sales Representative is a key member of our sales team, responsible for driving sales growth and building strong relationships with customers in the assigned territory. This role requires a strong understanding of the construction materials industry and the ability to develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales volume goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a list of target and development customers, building strong relationships to meet new sales goals
  • Meet or exceed new and retention sales volume goals, tracking current trends in the national and local economy and understanding their impact on the local ready-mix market
  • Assist customers and Quality Control to provide required mix design submittals, maintaining open communication regarding customer requirements and expectations to appropriate plant, dispatch, quality and management personnel
  • Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed, maintaining accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned area
  • Assist Credit Department with collections, adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensuring they are communicated and implemented within the team
  • Attend industry-related events and participate in trade associations, Chambers of Commerce, and local economic development groups, sharing expertise and experience with other sales team members
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience, preferably in the construction materials industry
  • Mid-level skill level with Microsoft Office Software, i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with CRM and customer contact databases
  • Familiarity with ERP - SAP
