Security Officer Job Description

**Job Summary:**

Marksman Security Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced security professional to join our team as a Security Officer. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Greet and Acknowledge Residents and Guests:**
  • Provide a warm and courteous welcome to all residents and guests, ensuring a positive and secure experience.
  • **Manage Access and Eject Unauthorized Individuals:**
  • Effectively manage guest/visitor access, ejecting trespassers or violators from premises when necessary, while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • **Verify Credentials and Document Visitor Information:**
  • Verify the credentials of incoming and outgoing individuals/vehicles, documenting and maintaining a log of visitors and notifying residents of visitor's arrival.
  • **Assist in Protecting Others and Equipment:**
  • Support the protection of residents, staff, and equipment, while enforcing policies and procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment.
  • **Monitor Surveillance Cameras and Alarms:**
  • Regularly monitor surveillance cameras and alarms to detect and respond to potential security threats.
  • **Patrol the Perimeter and Identify Potential Risks:**
  • Conduct regular patrols of the perimeter to identify potential safety and security risks, taking prompt action to mitigate any threats.
  • **Warn Violators and Respond to Emergencies:**
  • Warn violators of infractions, such as loitering, smoking, and possession of prohibited items, and respond to calls of distress, alarms, and emergencies by contacting local first responders.
  • **Identify and Report Concerns:**
  • Identify and report any concerns, such as safety breaches, security incidents, or unusual circumstances, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • **Maintain Accurate Documentation:**
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of required documentation, including reports and logs.

**Requirements:**

  • **Age and Education:**
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older and possess a high school degree or equivalent.
  • **Licensing and Transportation:**
  • Valid state licensing, if applicable, and must have own transportation.
  • **Professional Demeanor and Appearance:**
  • Professional demeanor and appearance are essential for this role.
  • **Computer Skills and Multitasking:**
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks are required.
  • **Communication Skills and Experience:**
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and a minimum of one year of customer service and security experience are necessary.
  • **Pre-Employment Screening:**
