Paraprofessional - Exceptional Student Education - K-2 Transition Specialist

Join our team as a Paraprofessional - Exceptional Student Education - K-2 Transition, where you will play a vital role in supporting students with exceptional needs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead small group exercises to reinforce instruction and co-teach lesson components as assigned by the teacher.
- Monitor and supervise students, providing academic, emotional, and physical support as needed.
- Assist with preparation of materials for instruction, including copying and duplicating materials, constructing display boards, and organizing learning centers.
- Perform necessary clerical tasks, such as checking students in and collecting parent communication.
- Participate in lesson planning sessions and communicate with parents and school officials.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of student and staff information.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional practices.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, and strong professional reputation.
- Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
- Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
Please note that applicants with a high school diploma, GED, or less than 60 semester hours of college credits are required to pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment to be qualified for consideration as a Paraprofessional. Applicants with 60 semester hours or more of college credits or an Associate's Degree or higher are not required to take the assessment.
