Job Title: 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic

Join Gehl Foods as a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic and be part of a team that ensures the smooth operation of our production equipment.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems to support both production and non-production related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems to support both production and non-production related equipment.
  • Manage equipment calibrations, programmable device configurations, and systems hardware to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, minimize equipment downtime, and support improvement activities for productivity and yield enhancement.
  • Assist in the execution of process validation, tooling, or package development testing to support organizational efficiency and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and other cross-functional groups to ensure equipment downtime is communicated in a timely fashion and that decisions are in alignment with production needs and overall company initiatives.
  • Generate daily work logs to track work orders and status of ongoing project assignments to ensure department resources are appropriately utilized.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable regulatory requirements while following the company's Good Manufacturing Practices.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5 years of electromechanical experience ideally in a food or beverage industry environment
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and abilities to analyze a wide variety of equipment, troubleshoot problems, and assess maintenance needs
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and controls aspects of factory automation systems and the integration of the devices used
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical P&ID drawings, and applied knowledge operating systems up to 3Ph and 480Vac
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills, and ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Proficient using a PC, ideally using Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Electromechanical Technology or related field
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuits, PLC troubleshooting, repair, and programming
  • Previous experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Journeyman certification
