Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned EMR Implementation Manager to lead the successful deployment and integration of EMR systems across healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience managing complex EMR implementations and a strong understanding of healthcare workflows, IT infrastructure, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, and deliver EMR system implementations from initiation through go-live and post-go-live support.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative stakeholders to understand organizational workflows and customize the EMR system to meet specific needs.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, resources, and budgets while ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the healthcare facility and the EMR vendor, ensuring seamless communication and resolving any implementation issues.
  • Develop and execute change management strategies to drive adoption and optimize the use of the EMR system.
  • Coordinate system testing, data migration, and interface integration with other healthcare technologies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, ensuring that all members understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure they can effectively utilize the new system.
  • Oversee the development and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure all workflows are thoroughly tested and validated.
  • Monitor system performance during and after implementation, addressing any issues that arise and providing ongoing support.
  • Ensure documentation of the implementation process, including system configuration, workflow adjustments, and training materials.
  • Stay current with emerging healthcare IT trends and regulatory changes impacting EMR systems and provide strategic input for future IT initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in EMR/EHR implementation, with a proven track record of leading successful projects.
  • Deep understanding of various EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech) and healthcare IT infrastructure.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows and healthcare operations in hospital and outpatient settings.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and Meaningful Use requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to build strong relationships across departments and functions.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • PMP or other project management certification is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience working with a healthcare system during a major EMR system conversion.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and provide end-user support.
  • Experience with data migration and interface development/integration.
  • Proficiency in creating user training and system documentation.
