Position Overview:

This role is for a Lead Technician specializing in thermoforming and vacuum forming processes. The position is primarily a first shift role, transitioning to second shift in the future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operation of thermoforming and vacuum forming machinery.
  • Determine and optimize cycle times for production efficiency.
  • Program machines for automated production runs.
  • Oversee the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of tooling used in part formation.
  • Ensure production of quality parts with minimal waste.
  • Trim fixtures for benchtop trimming and finishing processes.
  • Lead and mentor team members to achieve high performance standards.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with 5 years preferred, in operating:
  • Single Station, Rotary, and Pressure Forming equipment.
  • Proficiency in setting up machines for production runs.
  • Experience with tooling for part formation.
  • Knowledge of materials used in aircraft interiors, automotive components, and commercial products.
  • Ability to identify various material types, including Boltaron, Kydex, Polycarbonate, ABS, and Styrene.
  • Capability to read and interpret job instruction packets and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with high-level quality systems such as AS9100D.
  • Experience with trimming methods for formed parts.
Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including:

  • Regularly standing, walking, and reaching.
  • Using hands to handle tools and controls.
  • Lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment:

Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts and elevated noise levels, necessitating appropriate safety measures.
