Job Title: MRI Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Gateway Regional Medical Center.

About the Role

The MRI Technologist will be responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images, administering contrast material under the supervision of a radiologist, and promoting a safe environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with patients and family members to assess their emotional and physical needs during examinations.
  • Initiate immediate and effective emergency treatment for life-saving conditions.
  • Screen patients for contraindications before allowing them to enter the magnetic field.
  • Transport patients safely and follow universal precautions, sharps, and infection policies.
  • Ensure MRI image quality meets department protocols, including imaging processing and filming using preset parameters.
  • Accurately label images for proper patient identification and orientation.
  • Document patient history, pregnancy status, and allergy status.
  • Provide education and documentation of ARRT, IEMA, MRI Registry, and CE points.
  • Complete daily Phantom and QI logs.
  • Utilize PACS, HMS, and Teleradiology pertaining to radiology.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved radiological technologist program or MRI program.
  • At least 1 year of experience in MRI.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Radiology.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association.
  • MRI registry or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
