Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Gateway Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images, administering contrast material, and promoting a safe environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images in accordance with department protocols.
  • Administer contrast material for enhanced examinations under the supervision of a radiologist.
  • Promote a safe environment by screening all MRI patients for contraindications before allowing them to enter the magnetic field.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and family members, assessing their emotional and physical needs during examinations.
  • Initiate immediate and effective emergency treatment for life-saving conditions.
  • Transport patients in a safe manner, following universal precautions and infection policies.
  • Ensure accurate labeling for proper patient identification and orientation.
  • Document patient history, pregnancy status, and allergy status.
  • Provide education and documentation of ARRT, IEMA, MRI Registry, and CE points.
  • Complete daily Phantom and QI logs.
  • Utilize PACS, HMS, and Teleradiology pertaining to radiology.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved radiological technologist program or MRI program.
  • At least 1 year of experience in MRI.
  • At least 2 years of experience in radiology.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association.
