Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

KurzSolutions is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive and therapeutic psychiatric care to patients and their families.
Responsibilities- Assess patients and provide clinical diagnoses, prescribing medications and treatments as needed.
- Take a complete health and psychiatric history from patients and/or family members, reviewing medical history and consulting with primary care physicians as necessary.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, analyzing data to identify physical, emotional, or mental problems and prioritize healthcare needs.
- Perform mental status examinations, recognize psychiatric disorders, and provide diagnosis, determining the appropriate level of care and documenting findings in the electronic health record.
- Formulate and implement treatment plans, involving various modalities, prescribing medications, consulting with other healthcare providers, and referring patients as needed.
- Identify and manage acute and chronic mental health and substance use disorders, adhering to established standards of medical care and approved clinical privileges.
- Master's or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited academic program.
- Hold and maintain BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or client guidelines.
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or a recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice in psychiatry.
- At least 5 years' experience working in a mental health clinic.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Active, valid, current, and unrestricted license to practice nursing as a Nurse Practitioner from any state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia.
