We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our medical surgical care unit at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a Registered Nurse RN Medical Care, you will provide direct nursing care to adult patients who are acutely ill and recovering from a wide variety of nonsurgical medical and post-surgical conditions.
Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered nursing care and participate in patient and family education.
- Create and implement a care plan to meet each patient's needs, working with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers, and patient care staff.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain cultural and diversity awareness when interacting with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other customers.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 1 year of medical surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
