About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses looking to advance their careers in a specialized setting. As a Step Down Unit Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical units.
  • Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and respiratory status in the step-down unit.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and families on post-intensive care recovery, medication management, and self-care techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to facilitate patient progress and optimize outcomes in the step-down unit.
Requirements
  • Current RN license.
  • BLS certification (other certifications may be required by the facility).
  • Two years of recent Step Down experience.
  • Strong communication and adaptability skills.
