Bartender Responsibilities:
Possesses a keen interest in food and beverages with a desire to expand their knowledge. A natural sales enthusiast with an innate ability to interpret customer needs through non-verbal cues and respond swiftly. Someone who is passionate about exceeding guest expectations and adept at managing multiple tasks. Takes pride in their appearance and their role, follows directions well, and is eager to learn. An individual who is highly sociable and can adapt to serve a diverse clientele. Demonstrates honesty and a strong work ethic, with proficient cash handling skills.
Menu Expertise
To deliver confident and competent service, bartenders must possess comprehensive menu knowledge, including ingredients, preparation methods, and flavor profiles.
Summary of Job Duties:
Adhere to all service protocols.
Familiar with all menu items and able to present them enticingly.
Proactively boost sales through suggestive selling and enhancing the guest's dining experience.
Punctuality and readiness for scheduled shifts are essential.
Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor with colleagues, guests, and management.
Ensure a clean and organized appearance of the service area.
Comply with all sanitation standards.
Assist with any tasks assigned by supervisors.
Efficiently operate the P.O.S. system to enhance the guest experience and ensure accurate information.
Follow all service steps.
Deliver exceptional service at the bar by preparing drinks according to established recipes.
Familiarity with drink names, ingredients, preparation methods, appropriate glassware, and garnishes is required.
Knowledge of wines by the glass and at least two selections from each category on the wine list, across various price ranges and styles, is necessary.
Knowledge of signature cocktails and the ability to describe each one.Awareness of specialty liquors (e.g., small-batch bourbon, single malt scotches, cognacs, etc.).
Understand all food menu descriptions.
Ensure stock levels meet established standards.
Conduct daily inventory and communicate any out-of-stock items to servers and managers.
Verify that all guests are at least 21 years old.
Provide accurate reporting of all income received during shifts.
Sell beverages responsibly, prioritizing the guest's best interests.
Maintain seamless service flow between bar and server requests.
Accurately handle cash and all payment transactions.
