Position Overview:
The primary duty of this position is to guarantee that the fleet of company vehicles, including trucks and trailers, is kept in optimal condition and to efficiently address any repairs that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance of all trucks, trailers, vehicles, forklifts, and other mobile equipment utilized for logistics and transportation of goods.
- Conduct weekly inspections and performance tests on all vehicles.
- Prepare vehicles and equipment, including trucks and trailers, for annual roadworthy assessments.
- Execute scheduled major maintenance tasks on trucks and trailers.
- Perform servicing and maintenance on all company forklifts, cranes, bobcats, and telehandlers.
- Respond to service calls at sister sites and all accessible areas to address breakdowns of trucks and vehicles.
- Solicit and manage quotes from suppliers.
- Administer the tyre rotation program for all trucks and trailers in collaboration with external suppliers.
- Create, complete, and manage all DMS job cards generated within your division.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to hygiene standards for a FSSC accredited site.
- Plan and execute scheduled work during weekends.
- Collaborate with the engineering workshop to coordinate all related engineering tasks on trucks and vehicles.

Health and Safety:
- Actively participate in safety forums and attend relevant training programs.
- Report all safety incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times.
- Maintain a tidy and safe work environment consistently.
- Follow environmental regulations regarding waste materials.

Employee Management and Development:
- Ensure compliance with relevant procedures and policies.
- Clearly define job profiles for all team members.
- Conduct regular goal reviews to evaluate achievement of results.
- Provide ongoing support, coaching, and mentoring to meet objectives.
- Allocate resources appropriately to meet operational demands.
- Ensure adequate succession planning to address ongoing and anticipated business needs.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic with an applicable Trade Certificate.
- Auto Electrical experience is advantageous.
- Essential experience with 18-wheeler trucks and trailers, forklifts, and reach trucks.
- Experience with telehandlers, bobcats, and cranes is a plus.
- Familiarity with DMS or other maintenance programs is recommended.
