Role Overview
As a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and comprehensive inspections on turbofan engines, specifically Honeywell powered corporate aircraft. This includes troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications.
In this leadership role, you will oversee and assign tasks to technicians working on the engine, providing essential technical support and guidance.
The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician is expected to exercise sound judgment and technical expertise to make informed decisions regarding maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and resolving discrepancies.
With a strong technical background in the assigned aircraft and engines, you will perform your duties with minimal supervision.
You will lead projects and mentor Licensed Mechanics, ensuring adherence to proper mechanical practices and procedures.
Customer satisfaction is paramount, and your professional demeanor and communication skills will foster positive relationships with clients on-site.
Key ResponsibilitiesUpon engine arrival, ensure proper placement in the shop, safeguarding the engine and securing customer property.
Conduct incoming inspections and coordinate with other departments as necessary.
Collaborate with the Crew Chief to review service requests and determine the scope of work and any special maintenance needs.
Maintain and service engines, analyze technical issues related to aircraft or engine maintenance, and identify repair methods. Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
Support crew members in enhancing their skills, building trust, and promoting teamwork.
Provide technical direction to technicians and ensure awareness of standard man-hours for assigned tasks.
Keep the Crew Chief updated on job progress and any unusual findings.
Complete all necessary paperwork and submit work orders for closure.
May serve as a delegated inspector, performing inspection duties as authorized.
Travel as needed, working independently to address any technical challenges that arise.
Commit to understanding and promoting company policies and procedures while continuously seeking improvement.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
- At least 5 years of experience as an A&P Mechanic, specifically with Honeywell HTF7000 engines.
- Preferred factory-authorized training on assigned engines.
- Ability to climb ladders and platforms.
- Lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
- Strong analytical skills for complex mechanical troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated initiative in completing assignments and promoting teamwork.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Leadership skills to supervise and train less experienced mechanics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
