Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN to join our team at Intermountain Health American Fork Hospital. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing and administering radioactive materials for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and preparation for exams.
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine examinations according to departmental protocols.
  • Familiarize yourself with the ALARA program and adhere to radiation safety protocols.
  • Properly handle radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Ensure accurate administration of radioactive materials to patients.
  • Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Operate nuclear medicine equipment and related information systems to produce high-quality images.
  • Prepare, calculate, and measure radiopharmaceuticals for procedures.
  • Comply with regulations from the Utah Division of Radiation Control and NRC license.
  • Document radioactive materials and maintain records according to safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Board certification through Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or American Registry Radiologic Technologists Board.
  • Current License in state of practice.
  • Basic Life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine from an accredited institution with one year experience.
