Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Northern Light Acadia Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide support to medical practitioners in an ambulatory setting, assisting with clinical and administrative duties to ensure quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Assist providers with procedures and conduct follow-up with patients on lab and test results
- Room patients, obtain ECGs, and pre-load and confirm office appointments
- Provide support with patient transfers and mobility, lifting up to 200 pounds with assistance
- Perform CPR and other patient care treatments
- High school diploma or GED and successful completion of a medical assistant program and externship
- Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CCMA, CMA, NCMA, RMA) or LPN licensure in Maine
- Experience in direct patient care in a healthcare facility, ambulatory medical office setting, or similar environment
- Experience with Cerner and other electronic medical records systems
- Current CPR certification and ability to obtain accurate vital signs and patient histories
This is a busy, often stressful, ambulatory setting providing direct patient care to all age patients.
