Key Responsibilities

As an Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on baggage conveyor systems and associated equipment.
  • Performing Preventive Maintenance (PM) inspections, including disassembly, repairs, and refurbishment of machinery.
  • Inputting detailed maintenance data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Executing unscheduled maintenance tasks, including disassembly and repairs.
  • Maintaining all mechanical components within the baggage handling system (BHS).
  • Overseeing the installation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical parts and assemblies in the BHS.
  • Understanding control room operations and performing operator duties as needed.
  • Resolving operational issues such as jams and other malfunctions.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the BHS and surrounding areas.
  • Operating various equipment, including company vehicles and forklifts.
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to execute necessary maintenance and services.
Qualifications

To be considered for the Equipment Maintenance Specialist position, candidates should possess:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance and operations.
  • Strong mechanical skills, including expertise in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as troubleshooting and repair of baggage handling machinery.
  • Intermediate knowledge of PLC control systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with airport operations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • The ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Strong leadership skills to direct and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers and colleagues.
  • The ability to obtain security clearance for working in restricted areas.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
