Position Overview:
This is a PRN role, with flexible working hours as required.


Millennium Physician Group is looking to recruit a PRN MRI Imaging Specialist to enhance our Imaging Team.

We seek a candidate who is enthusiastic, dynamic, capable of managing multiple tasks, and enjoys engaging with patients. The ideal individual will align with our primary goal of delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
The MRI Imaging Specialist must possess all relevant certifications and licenses pertinent to their practice. The candidate should thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive demeanor.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining quality control records, ACR accreditation documentation, and daily logs for specific modalities.
  • Utilizing computer software effectively, including PACS, eRad, and Athena Clinicals and Communicator.
  • Gathering comprehensive patient histories for each examination conducted for the Radiologist's review.
  • Coordinating special procedures and biopsies as necessary.
  • Adhering to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and equipment.

Essential Duties:
  • Conducting all radiologic examinations in accordance with established protocols while fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Optimizing the MRI room's usage to accommodate both scheduled and walk-in patients.
  • Addressing patient inquiries before, during, and after procedures.
  • Ensuring thorough patient histories and the availability of prior films and reports for the Radiologist.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the MRI room and equipment.
  • Verifying patient identities before examinations.
  • Managing and ordering supplies for the MRI room and other areas as required.
  • Accessing patient reports through ERAD PACS.
  • Facilitating image retrieval for Radiologist review.
  • Printing films and creating CDs for referring patients.
  • Monitoring patient studies and information in ERAD for accuracy.
  • Coordinating with referring physician offices for necessary prescriptions.
  • Assisting other modalities as needed.
  • Complying with ACR guidelines.
  • Adjusting technical factors to enhance imaging quality.
  • Accurately entering patient histories into ERAD PACS for Radiologist review.
  • Prioritizing urgent exams and communicating results to referring physicians.
  • Scheduling special procedures and providing patients with appropriate instructions.
  • Maintaining laundry counts and sanitizing the room regularly.
  • Understanding safety protocols for MRI procedures.
  • Screening patients and others before granting access to the MRI suite.

Qualifications:

Candidate must possess an Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited radiologic school, with six months to one year of relevant experience preferred, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Certifications:

Active State of Florida Radiologic Technology license, BLS certification, and National Registration RT(R), RT(MR) or the ability to pass the exam within one year of employment.
