Position Overview
$25.00 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle equipped with a specialized lift system for loading and unloading containers at client locations, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Conduct and document daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift equipment.
  • Accept additional delivery requests as necessary to fulfill operational requirements.
  • Utilize a company-issued handheld device for delivery confirmation and route navigation.
  • Operate forklifts and/or overhead cranes as needed.
  • Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are ready for customer delivery.
  • Manage rental documentation and payment processes with clients.
  • Liaise with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding customer inquiries and issues; prepare necessary driver notes.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on containers and lifts both in the field and at storage facilities.
  • Provide support for storage center operations when required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior.
  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY STRUCTURE

  • Typically reports to management; direct supervisors may include Market Manager or Territory Manager.
  • This role does not involve direct management of other employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL Class B License required without air brake restriction.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Must meet the company’s Driver Qualification Standards.
  • Minimum age of 21 years is required.
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain a minimum one-year certification.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic devices and software is preferred.
  • Basic math skills necessary for job functions.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, or experience may be considered.
  • Ability to complete a mandatory two-week New Hire Driver Training Program.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to remain stationary while driving or operating equipment.
  • Ability to frequently ascend and descend the vehicle and equipment using three points of contact.
  • Ability to move about and position oneself to operate machinery and deliver containers.
  • Ability to occasionally lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to frequently use hands for various tasks including writing and operating equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, colleagues, and customers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Shift start times may vary; additional hours may be required.
  • Travel within the designated territory may be necessary.
  • Storage facilities may not be climate-controlled.
  • Regularly works in outdoor conditions with exposure to various weather elements.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Subject to drug screening in accordance with company policy.
