Job Description

Position Overview: The primary aim of this role is to manage the dispatch operations for the delivery team, ensuring that all necessary documentation, equipment, and orders are efficiently organized, loaded, and prepared for the dispatch process on a daily basis. This position provides oversight to management regarding dispatch and routing challenges and resolves issues as needed to ensure all routes are effectively dispatched. Additionally, it involves coordinating the dispatch of equipment to designated driver teams.

Working Hours: 4PM-12:30AM

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $23.00

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Ability to motivate and influence team members.
  2. Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the dispatch and routing processes.
  3. Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
  4. Bi-lingual proficiency is advantageous; Spanish preferred.
  5. Proficient in computer applications, including Word and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation, troubleshooting, and setup of EPODs for daily routes.
  2. Configuration, troubleshooting, and setup of Samsara for daily routes.
  3. Creation of driver packets and assignment of keys for routes.
  4. Allocation of E-LOGS to drivers for their assigned vehicles.
  5. Completion of the Daily Schedule for Delivery Operations at the end of each shift.
  6. Notification to management regarding any emergency call-ins required to fulfill daily routes.
  7. Assistance with routing trucks as necessary.
  8. Timely dispatch of the delivery team, assigning helpers as required, and ensuring all trucks depart on schedule.
  9. Verification of driver compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
  10. Ensuring all drivers complete their Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports prior to dispatch.
  11. Coordination of additional items for trucks in preparation for route dispatch.
  12. Review of the Daily Open Order Report to confirm all orders are loaded and ready for delivery.
  13. Support with Mid Shift Receiving tasks.
  14. Collaboration with the Customer Service team for Mid Shift Cash and Carry preparation and pickup.
  15. Assistance with the scheduling of the delivery team.
  16. Promotion of a safety-oriented culture.
  17. Any other responsibilities as assigned periodically.
  18. Ensuring all tasks are executed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  19. Collaboration with warehouse staff, delivery teams, inventory management, and customer service as necessary.
