We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Behavioral Health Care Specialist. This is a temporary opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.

Job Description

This role requires a professional RN with experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant settings. The ideal candidate will have excellent assessment skills, be able to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations, and provide education to consumers and their families regarding behavioral health diagnosis, medications, and treatments.

The successful candidate will complete detailed nursing assessments, plan individual treatment as part of the multidisciplinary clinical team, and provide education on psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy. Additionally, they will intervene with verbal interventions to diffuse out-of-control behaviors, demonstrate a thorough knowledge of seclusion/restraint standards, guidelines, techniques, and initiate documentation and debriefing for any incidents.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program
  • Unrestricted active license as a Registered Professional Nurse through the State Board of Nursing or hold a multistate licensure privilege
  • Must be able to perform safe clinch patient restraint techniques
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
  • At least 1 year of psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant experience (preferred)
  • Previous emergency room or crisis psychiatric care experience (preferred)
  • Experience working with individuals with addiction and addiction management (preferred)
